I had an afternoon off today at Exeter Races.
Anyone with an EX postcode could go for free today. Where were you?
I did bump into several of our customers and we had a chat.
One of the customers lives next door to one of the top jockeys but she did not have any tips for me.
The girls in the photograph were from a local design college.
One young lady was promoting the next race meeting which is to be sponsored by Burts crisps.
The other young lady was promoting the shortest dress ever!
It was a nice day when the sun was out but after the first three races it became distinctly chilly….I never saw the girls again!
One of the first customers this morning was a customer with a conscious.
She came in yesterday afternoon, selected a birthday card then proceeded to write the card.
She came to the counter and bought a stamp and left.
Overnight she remembered that she had not paid for the card so came back to pay us.
This wasn’t the first occurrence yesterday as someone else did a similar thing but only paid for the card when we asked if they had paid or not.
How many other customers have done this to us (intentionally or not)?
There was a review our local pub, The Swan, in the telegraph on Saturday http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/pubs/9126438/Pint-to-pint-The-Swan-Bampton-Devon.html
I gather one couple that spent the weekend at the Swan last week have rebooked for this weekend as they loved it so much.
If you do come to stay at the Swan then pop into the Post Office and say hello.
