Some sunshine has appeared at last although it is still chilly in the shade.
The alliums in our back garden have taken ages to get going this year but now one has burst into bloom this week.
A customer had left her debit card behind in the machine yesterday and she came in to collect it this morning.
She said it had been the very first time she had used it since she had lost the previous one. When she told her husband his response was “You’re not pregnant again are you?”
An older customer was relating the time when she was a young girl and was the only girl in the school to contract scarlet fever.
In those days she was confined to her room with disinfected cloths on the floor. All of her books were burnt so it couldn’t spread further.
The only upside was she had to eat lots of her favourite, chocolate blancmange, and remembers having a whole blancmange rabbit to herself.
A customer brought in a bunch of freshly cut Lily of the Valley for us and they smell sweetly in the kitchen. She will bring us some sweet peas when they start to get a move on. We do have some appreciative customers thankfully.
