An early customer was a local lady and she said she been away for a couple of days to Oxford.
You would have thought she had been to Australia and back.
She said “Oxford is a different world to what we are used to. The furthest we normally go is Minehead or Weston-Super-Mare”.
“It really was an eye-opener, all those bicycles. They also have strange food, it’s all garlicky”.
However, they are planning to go back again in the future.
One of our regular ladies came in looking all please with herself as she had gone to Tiverton on the 10:20 bus, visited the optician and still had time to catch the bus back to Bampton for just after eleven o’clock.
She wanted some money out of her account so she gave me her card.
I said “You need to go back to the opticians as this is your loyalty card for Costcutters not your Lloyds debit card”.
The Gazette photographer turned up today as for some strange reason they want my picture in Tuesdays edition.
I must be appearing on Page 3 as I had to take my shirt off.
